What is DiaryThreads?
DiaryThreads is a private, single-user diary for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. You write short entries, reply to keep a thought growing, quote older entries, search and favorite your timeline, review on-device insights, and import, export, or share only when you choose.

Version 1.1 expands private writing
Premium ordinary entries can continue beyond the free 140-character allowance. File attachments add up to 3 files to an ordinary entry or 20 to an Article, with a 45 MiB per-file limit and documented per-record totals.
Free long-form Articles, private Topics, Premium handwriting, on-device emotion suggestions, Emotion Trajectory, and native iPhone, iPad, and Mac apps are all available within their documented boundaries.
A diary built from entries and threads
Each entry can stand on its own, become the start of a reply thread, or quote an older moment. The result is a private timeline where ideas and memories can continue instead of disappearing into separate pages.
Every entry body opens a detail thread. Replies preserve the relationship between thoughts, while quotes bring a past entry into the present without changing the original.
Search, calendar, discovery, and reflection
Home, Search, Analytics, and Premium Favorites form the four main destinations. Search works character by character; the calendar, “What’s…there?” rediscovery feed, and on-device analytics add different ways to return.
These tools work with the entries already on the device. They are designed for reflection inside a private diary, with no public discovery, followers, or external accounts.
Sharing remains an explicit choice
Text, quoted, photo, and photo-only root entries can become Single Entry posters. When the content exists, Quote Chain and Related Entries preserve the context and available photos around a memory.
Sharing requires Premium. The diary itself stays private until the user intentionally opens the share flow.
Bring old writing in, or take the whole diary with you
Version 1.1 includes local-only Premium import for common text and document formats, structured files, PDF text or OCR, and recognized X, Instagram, or Facebook archive ZIPs. The Share Extension can hand text, a link, or up to nine images to the local draft inbox. Imported text becomes ordinary timeline threads with original dates preserved when the source provides them.
Beta export creates a photo-aware DOCX or a Markdown ZIP. Imported Content Management can remove imported threads and later import the same source again.
